Santorini
Santorini…Great poets have sung its praises, a 4.000 year old history. And the eternal rock continues to stand, strong and majestic, rising proudly from the sea and guarding well the secrets of Atlantis...
The world famous island of Santorini is the southern most island of the Cycladic group in the Aegean Sea, and is located 63 nautical miles north of Crete. Its surface area is 73 sq. km. and its population, distributed among thirteen villages, just exceeds thirteen thousand six hundred people, according to the census of 2001.
The present-day crescent shape of the island is a consequence of the activity of the volcano 3.600 years ago where 30 million cubic meters of magma covered the island - which by that time was round - and forced half of it to sank. The breathtaking Caldera is the cliff in the half side of the island that proves the missing part of Santorini. The towns of Fira, Imerovigli and Ia are located exactly on the Caldera and share a Unique View.
Santorini is an ideal destination for incentives and very small meetings. Its wineries - some of them very traditional; the archaeological sites; private cruises to the volcano & hot springs; and the vibrant nightlife with cosy restaurants right on the Caldera are some of the elements that can characterise Santorini as an Incentive Destination.
