LTC Financial Partners in co-operation with the local supplier EVENT MAKERS DMC are delighted to offer you the following optional tours during your trip to Crete.

TUESDAY, 17 MAY 2011

TOUR A: KRITSA & LATO - Duration 4 hours
Departure 12.30 pm
Return 04.30 pm

An excursion to Kritsa, one of CRETE 'S most picturesque villages, is especially nice in the early afternoon. The old houses seem to beckon you reach for your camera, and the 13th century Church of Our Lady (Panagia Kera) is fortunate in having its Byzantine frescoes perfectly pre served. The film "Christ Recrucified", based on Kazantza kis' novel, was made here.

Between the village and the church, on a turn-off to the right a small village leads to the ruins of the ancient Greek town of Lato. The extensive remains are interspersed with olive trees and the site looks out on a view of Mirabello Bay, dazzling at any time, and specially incomparable at sunset. The tour includes lunch in a local restaurant with Traditional Cretan Appetizers. Drinks during lunch are not included.

TOUR A: Price per person 90,00€

Price include private coach, Professional English speaking guide, entrance fees, and lunch in a local restaurant. Price do not include drinks during the lunch.

Minimum participation for the tour is 20 guests. If less than 20 guests in the tour the tour will be cancelled and guests will get a full refund.

TOUR B: TO SPINALONGA ISLAND - Duration 3 hours

Take a boat trip (which lasts 20 minutes) to the island of Spinalonga, fortified by the Venetians and used at the beginning of this century as a leper colony. You spend about 45 minutes to explore the island. Embarkation and Disembarkation from the port of Plaka just few meters walking distance from the ELOUNDA BLUE PALACE hotel. The tour includes official English speaking guide from / to the Hotel.

TOUR B: Price per person including lunch 50,00€

Price includes Professional English speaking guide, boat tickets and entrance fees to Spinalonga.

No minimum participation is required.

A tour to Heraklion and the Palace of Knossos is a must!

Knossos is not simply foundations, but a three story Palace complex of rooms, halls and passages dating from 2500 BC and the centre of the Minoan civilisation (when in most parts of the world people were still living in caves). This is the labyrinth where Theseus slew the Minotaur, and where history and legend go hand in hand. Heraklion's long-lasting history has contributed to the existence of a significant cultural and intellectual movement.

The new part of the city is surrounded by the famous Venetian walls and has preserved many picturesque spots and monuments, standing as reliable witnesses of its history. Once you had to pass through the gates of the wall if you wished to enter the city.
